Everything you need to know about our wedding celebration

What will the weather be like?

December is part of the summer season in Cape Town and the surrounding areas, you can expect average day time temperatures ranging from 20°C to 32°C.

We recommend you bring a light layer for the evenings as the temperature can drop.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Formal

Can I bring a plus one?

Please note that while we would love to invite many more people to celebrate with us, RSVPs are for named invitees only.

How can I get to Stellenbosch?

We highly recommend renting a car upon your arrival in Cape Town.

Stellenbosch is approximately 1-1.5 hour drive from Cape Town and having a rental car gives you the ultimate flexibility and freedom to explore the region at your own pace.

Alternatively, uber and private transfers are available if you choose not to hire a car.

For your own safety, we would not recommend any public transport.

How do I RSVP?

Kindly RSVP as soon as possible by clicking on the link below.
Please note the final date to RSVP by is strictly the July 2025.

Do I require a visa to travel to South Africa?

For most of our travelling guests, you will not require a visa as long as your trip is no longer than 90 days.

What is load shedding in South Africa and will it impact me during my stay?

South Africa’s energy crisis or load shedding is an ongoing period of widespread national blackouts of electricity supply. It began in the later months of 2007.

Thankfully, most South Africans are resilient and therefore many accommodations, shops, restaurants, etc. have generators in place for when load shedding takes place.

Please make sure you enquire about this when booking any accommodation.

Safety and Security tips while in South Africa?

In areas such as Camps Bay, Clifton, Bakoven, Hout Bay and Franschhoek you are generally safe to walk/cycle around. That said, we recommend you only do this in pairs/groups.

Please be mindful of your belongings at all times and do not leave your valuables unattended at any time.

Please use private car hire or Uber when travelling around. For your own safety, we would not recommend any public transport.

Drinking & Driving, in South Africa we have regular roadblocks in the evenings along many main roads and popular social spots, that will stop drivers and test for alcohol. Please do not drink and drive at any time!

What is the local currency and exchange rate?

The local currency is the South African Rand (ZAR or R).

Tipping & Gratuities in South Africa?

Tips and gratuities are typically discretionary and are between 10-12.5% minimum. These are often not included in most bills at bars/restaurants and must be calculated and added at the end.

Will we need travel adapters for chargers, etc.?

For our international guests, yes! Please find adapters for the following plug types:

Type M (most common, has 3 round pins in triangular pattern)

Type C (has two round pins)
